Ribbon Page Marker

The ribbon page marker is a narrow ribbon affixed to the head of the book block that serves as a bookmark when placed between the pages. It usually extends beyond the bottom of the book block. The technical bookbindery term is ribbon marker. The ribbon marker is not to be confused with the headband, the small, coloured ribbon that is glued onto the top and bottom of the spine on hardcover books and cover volumes.
